Customize Razuna: But now for each tenant! Coming up in Razuna 1.5

A couple of weeks ago, we introduced the possibility to customize Razuna on a global level. Today, we are happy to announce, that we have re-factored the customization feature and brought it to the tenant level! In other words, each Administrator will be able to customize Razuna to their hearts content.

Customizing Razuna on the tenant level also gives you the option to fully tailor, what to show within Razuna. You don’t need the basket? No, problem, simply hide it, same applies to tabs, icons or buttons that you feel your users don’t need.

For the many organizations that have taken to Razuna in the recent months, this is another new feature, that allows you to tweak Razuna to your needs. Razuna 1.5 is the next major release of Razuna and brings many requested features to the most used open source Digital Asset Management.

Razuna 1.5: Custom Fields API and extended API search

Many great things will come in Razuna 1.5 (I know we are a bit late, but you will love all the stuff we’ve done for Razuna 1.5). One area that has gotten a lot of love is the new API, now extending on it, we also added the option to work with custom fields in the API. This allows for even great integration into your own application.

With the Custom Fields API you can create custom fields, list available ones and get the custom fields of each asset within your record set.

Additionally, since the search API is an extension of the search within Razuna one can now search for labels and custom fields within the search API. In order to do so, you simply do a field search as in:

labels:(Animals)

For those who are already using the API the complete search string would look something like:

/global/api2/search.cfc?method=searchassets&api_key=1&searchfor=labels:(Animals)

The same logic applies to search with custom fields.

We encourage developers to read the new custom fields API and the enhanced search API documentation.

WorldNow chooses Razuna

The Razuna digital asset management technology to be embedded in WorldNow’s CMS system for broadcasters.

The New York-based purveyor of online and mobile platforms for broadcasters, WorldNow, has signed an agreement with Razuna to embed the Razuna Digital Asset Management technology into the WorldNow platform. WorldNow is enhancing their technology to be more Digital Asset Management focused and decided on Razuna to handle the digital asset management processes and functions inside the WorldNow platform.

WorldNow is enhancing their technology to be more Digital Asset Management focused and decided on Razuna to handle the digital asset management processes and functions inside the WorldNow platform.

“We were looking for a technology, which could be embedded deep into the WorldNow platform,” says Joe Sticca, WorldNow SVP Digital Product Management and Development. “Razuna has an intuitive user interface and proven track record of handling large scale digital assets.  Our technology is very nimble and flexible, allowing us to innovate quickly. Razuna is a very good match in our flexible modular approach for integration.”

Using the Razuna customization engine, Razuna will seamlessly integrate into WorldNow’s user interface making it a completely transparent experience for the users.

“Razuna has been built with the user in mind,” says Razuna CEO Jens Strandbygaard. “Our users need to be able find their assets quickly, manage them and share them with dealers, on their website or website – or for print publications. We have 50,000 downloads a year and more than 2,000 paying users of our cloud service. We are therefore committed to flexibility and ease of use. Our Digital Asset Management service has got to be something you sign up for easily and can start using immediately.”

Razuna features an API, allowing it to be integrated or embedded into other CMS or webshop technologies. As all assets managed via Razuna can be stored on the platform directly or via a third party cloud storage provider or Content Distribution Network such as Nirvanix, Amazon S3 or Akamai, Razuna has proven to be a preferred choice for customers looking for the added flexibility and accessibility that a cloud or CDNs storage provides – without any hazzle.

“We are happy that WorldNow has chosen Razuna. They have a strong technology and impressive customer base, and we are proud to work with them,” says Razuna CEO Jens Strandbygaard. “And with our European base, we definitely see some potential for helping WorldNow into the European market as well.”

The technology partnership between WorldNow and Razuna will result in new digital asset management features available for WorldNow’s customers in later part 2012.

Razuna is exhibiting at the Next Web Conference in Amsterdam on April 26th and 27th 2012.

Razuna 1.5: The labels got a lot of love

By no doubt, labels is one of the most used features of Razuna. Now, with the soon to be released Razuna 1.5, we’ve given labels some extra love. New label explorer, option to have sub-labels, new interface and last but not least the option to add labels by the API.

The new label explorer has the option to add labels and sub-labels within one unified interface. There is no need to go to the dedicated Administration anymore, just to add a label. Of course, the Administration is still there, but adjusted to work with sub-labels. Furthermore, you can edit and remove a label with one click only.

Within the asset view, there is also a new searchable drop down menu to label your assets quickly. Additionally, administrators can add labels intuitively from anywhere in the system. Thus making labels available system-wide.

Moreover, it is now finally possible to search with labels (yes, we know, took us a long time). To round off the new label features, we have also exposed all label functions within an API, so developers can use the label function within their own application.

This and many more exciting features are coming up in the all new Razuna 1.5. Stay tuned for more news soon.
